This was a truly special period of time in which Katja and Artome really attached to family, friends and their surroundings at home. One of the major highlights of August was that we had the pleasure of finally meeting the Alstrins. The Alstrins adopted their little girl Ally, from Karaganda and at the same time became acquainted with Katja and Artome. They dedicated a day on their travel journal website to them, and Jim and I happened to be following along. Most of you know the rest of the story, but it was truly a miracle as to how we found Katja and Artome. See below for pictures of their visit to Lake Whatcom.
