Out for a run this morning I realized I am running out of new sights to capture the Karaganda scene. This statue is just outside the City Museum. (Which we still have high hopes of vsiting. We'll see...)
Here is my imitation.
Here is Artome's imitation of this statue. This is only about two blocks from our apartment.
We had a very nice dinner at Assorti with our two fellow WPA families. We really enjoyed a night out and a chance to catch up on everyone's progress. Al & Sara, and Will & Julie are closing in on their court dates. Before dinner, everyone met at our place for some wine and beer. Katja and Artome were shy at first but really warmed up after a while.
Artome and Will get to know each other.
Discussions invariably turn to the things from home that you miss, but the good food and desserts here are good diversions.
The desserts at Assorti are out of this world! Here is Julie eying her chocolate layered cake!
Artome didn't appreciate the water with "gas". (carbonated)
We split this piece of cake and it was as good as it looks!
Not much new to report from Karaganda. We are now down to our final days and really can't wait to get back to Seattle and get the kids into their new home. We miss our family, friends and are really missing our two dogs (our other kids!) Maddie and Levi! Cheeseburgers for you when we get home!
