While we were out for a walk this afternoon, we passed Karaganda's Lenin Monument.
Nastia commented that they let him stay because "He doesn't hurt anyone". She was shocked to hear that we have a statue of him in Seattle (Fremont). She wanted to know if Fremont is a Communist neighborhood. We explained that it is just a bit eclectic!
Texas Big Hair Kukla. Later, when Nastia joined us she re-did Kukla's hair into a business-like bun. Good times!
On Sundays the Babushka's let the kids play with stuff that is stored away during the rest of the week.
Katja had a good time playing with yet another new, and super-sized Kukla.
We are sorry not to be able to show pictures of the Circus today, but when we arrived at the venue, there was a sign explaining that it had been rescheduled. Everything here seems to be subject to change, so we try to maintain a go with the flow attitude. They had to combine two shows due to lack of ticket sales and after walking around Karaganda and shopping we decided to head home instead of going to the late show.
Unused Circus tickets. Thankfully, there is no Ticketmaster here! These tickets are printed on thin paper and hand stamped for authenticity!
Artome and his easy going nature.
Added bonus! Here is the Russian version of Mr. Clean. Replaces Cecelia's cans of ZEP. We also like this box of "Moof" laundry detergent. Now with lemon! Any orders? Norma? Yvonne?
Back side of Lenin Park, and slushy walking conditions.
Just watching Artome and Katja laugh and play is unbelievable! It really puts things into perspective.
