A sign and monument celebrating Karaganda's 70th anniversary in February,2004
Captain Ron style tree trimming down the street from our apartment. Suprisingly common method around town. Also, all tree trunks around painted white?
We went by this lady around noon at which point she had the stairs cleared in front of this casino. Notice the handmade witchie-poo broom that everyone uses for outdoor duty here. :)
At some point last night it snowed three inches. The Baby House had an inspection by Government Officials and that meant no morning visit, so we went on a morning walk/adventure.
Authentic English Style Casino! (For Ali) We did not go into Big Ben Casino, but the facade was quite inviting.
Along busy streets are underground pedestrian crossing tunnels, underneath people selling wares of every description set up their stands. Fascinating people watching!
Ice cream, is available year round. This place also has soda pop, beer, smokes and chewing gum. Good times!
We had seen this gentleman before in the tunnel. We found him today about a block away working the accordian.
Mario Pizza.
We admired the sign above this computer store. Space Needle, Columbia Tower, and the Monorail (new version that they don't know is dust!) in the shape of a computer mouse. Just as Cecelia was beginning to feel homesick we saw this! Who would have thought!??!
Ok. Can they be any cuter? Yes, we are brother and sister!!!!
Today we only had an afternoon visit. The Baby House doctor (who we love, pictures to follow) said that they cried when we didn't come for our morning visit. It breaks my heart the they cried, but makes my day that they miss us! If they only knew how sad we were to miss our morning visit! If only they knew that soon we will be together forever! (Actually, I think they know! :)
